The 3.15 inch foot mount alternator is designed to be a direct replacement for a supplied Hitachi / Nippondenso alternator. It fits most Yanmars, Perkins and many small diesel auxiliary engines. For engines that do not use the 3.15 inch mount, the High Output 94 amp alternator is also shown above with the available 2 inch or 1 inch foot mounts.

The 3.15 inch mount is shown above in both the externally and internally regulated versions. The 2 inch and 1 inch mounts are shown in the externally regulated versions. Depending on mounting style, the above alternators may be available in 12vdc - 94amp or 24vdc - 58amp outputs. There are dozens of combinations possible to fit your solution needs.

To aid in simplifying your Solution needs and decision, in all 12vdc solutions the alternators are all the same price. The only additional cost in externally regulated solutions is the added cost of an external regulator, sensors, and spike protection.

**Special Note: Specify desired version - Single Stage Internal or Three Stage External regulation. If external version desired, customer needs to have or purchase an external regulation package consisting of external regulator, sensors, and spike protector. If you already have a proper external regulator package, the price of an externally regulated alternator solution is the same as an internally regulated solution.

First Alternator Dimensional Checks

First Alternator Replacement or Upgrade Sizing Checks

If possible, send us a photo of your actual engine (front view, side view - alternator side, & overhead view), existing alternator (close up of front, side, overhead, rear, mounting foot) with the actual dimensions (A, B, C, D, R, S) shown below. Using the example drawings on the left, measure your alternator dimensions (A, B, C, D) and clearances (R, S).

• Dimension "A" is the overall size of the existing alternator from side to side.
• Dimension "B" is the overall size of the existing alternator from top to bottom.
• Dimension "C" is the overall size of the existing alternator from front to rear.
• Dimension "D" is size / type of the mounting foot (1 or 2 inch, or a double foot with 3.15 inches in between them).

• Dimension "R" is the free space at the back of the alternator until it "runs into" something on the engine - possibly a heat exchanger.
• Dimension "S" is the space between the side of the alternator and the engine. It is when the alternator (without fan belt even on is at its closest point to the engine as the adjustment bolt slides in the adjustment arm to its shortest length. This position may require a belt shorter than your existing belt if your existing belt is too long or stretched out.

The Output Curve for the 12vdc - 94amp alternator is shown above on the left in the Blue Graph. The Output Curve for the 24vdc - 58amp alternator is shown above on the right in the Green Graph. The RPM shown on the X axis for both graphs is shown using a typical 2.5 to 1 ratio of Alternator to Engine RPM. The Engine RPM is shown above the corresponding Alternator RPM.
